NASA/JPL | Dare Mighty Things
This independent proof of concept is a personal project inspired by the ambition of the new moon missions. To capture the scale of space exploration, I executed the entire post-production process myself, including all 3D animation, rendering, VFX, sound design, and editing.
MOOD BOARDS
I began by creating mood boards for visual inspiration, followed by a preliminary previz to guide the design.
Satellite Asset
Modeled, rigged, and surfaced a 3D satellite for dynamic space-flight sequences, applying detailed gold, silver, and metallic textures guided by design references.

I created a simple rig to shape the silhouette in the animation.

This also gave me a simple way to add quick and subtle movements while its in flight, as if adjusting to it's trajectory.
Moon Hero Crater
Built a section of the lunar surface within Houdini's terrain system based on gathered visual references.
Pre-Visualization
Following asset creation, I developed a previz to establish initial timing and camera composition. These elements were refined during final animation, lit, and rendered. To complete the project, supplemental stock footage was integrated between the full CG sequences in the final edit.
